Thursday 16th September
Wow! How incredible are the graphics in Second Life? Guess I'd need a second life to find the time to create or play in this type of world. As usual life on the Year 9 only campus is extremely demanding- the week has disappeared after days were consumed by a full school athletics carnival and a collaborative program. Despite the loss of class time the students enjoyed the social interaction with the girls from their sister school.
Hopefully Web 2.0 will receive more of my attention during the holiday period. Enjoy the break all fellow teachers!

Only one more week of my Digital Story Telling . Dad will be excited by the many resurrected images utilized in its production. My conquering of igoogle is another matter - my page is now overwhelming; far too many pieces of information tend to render it useless.
Google oceans I enjoyed but I have yet to master the section called Gadgets. Hopefully the coming week will see me more productive in my acquisition of new skills.

Monday 30th August

Last week ventured into the world of Google a little further than just using the document share feature. Fell in love with Google books. What a fantastic cost effective option - new ideas for the garden or even additional suggestions on how to improve my fitness and also my health - without the cost.
Then there's assistance for my uni student sons in the Scholar option. Finally I discovered the Calendar option and realized that it already existed on my school computer.
With additional time I'll manage to master further Google applications.

Thursday 19th August
What a week!! Two parent teacher interview sessions separated by a night at my ACMI Digital Story Telling in-service, plus a full day's excursion around Melbourne with the Year 9 students. No wonder all those English essays are still sitting in the office unattended. Suppose there's always the weekend.
A priority will have to be my next lesson on Web 2.0 - or I'll be failing the course. Maybe tomorrow I'll expand my knowledge of Google Docs. Did venture into the sharing mode with my students today but encountered a glitch with the storage of student files in my folder.

Thursday 5th August
Pleased to state that my education into the digital world continued yesterday with my first session at ACMI, attending an introduction to digital story telling. How privileged we are in Melbourne to have such an exquisite facility.
My students will be impressed with my delayed but enthusiastic entry into the world of technology.
